my intentions with this piece were to portray the pumpkins i saw in front of me in a slightly spookier manor . to do this, i focused on line instead of shadow or realism . it surprised me that i didn't have to be realistic like my classmates, that i could just draw the pumpkins the way saw them . i think my drawing really works in the central part, where both skulls are . that's where i focused most of my energy, and all the intricate pieces of the skull made it lots of fun to add detail to . i feel that my line work is the best thing about my piece . i love how ghostly and grungy the white lines make it, almost like their acting on their own accord as opposed to the sketchy but realistically placed black lines .
An artist must always ask themselves"what is my INTENTION?" When you switched your intention from Value to LINE you declared your intention(your goal) and met it. Good work with high emotional appeal.
