humanity. print/acrylic on canvas

  1. this project was something i did in place of another assignment for my class. i decided that i wanted to pull it in a different direction and learn to paint and carve in a much more simplistic way. where others used shadows and hard highlights to create a "bare minimum, i used colours and lines. i learned that it's okay for your art to be simple, that not everything has to look incredibly detailed. and that it's totally alright to let your style flip-flop as you move from medium to medium. if i could change something about this mini series, i would change the way i did the prints. of course it was my first time using a block or doing printmaking at all, but i would use a linocut and try to make more lines to fill in with different inks like my big painting.
